Statzzzzzz

A finnau wedi gwneud nifer go lew o newidiadau i'r wefan ac i'r ffrwd flickr, roeddwn braidd yn bryderus wrth edrych ar effaith hyn oll ar ystadegau'r gwefannau. Tra rywf innau wedi bod yn ffidlan am oriau meithion, a oedd y gynulleidfa wedi codi a gadael?

Mae fy lluniau ar gyfartaledd yn derbyn tua 600 o "gliciau" arnynt bob dydd. Ond ers yr eisteddfod (a chyflwyno newidiadau i'r llif gwaith), mae'r ffigwr wedi cynyddu, dros dro o leiaf, i dros 1500 y dydd, sef dros 15,000 o "hits" dros gyfnod o 10 diwrnod.

Mae'r nifer o drawiadau ar luniau hen yn aros yn gyson - sef rhyw 200 y dydd, felly mae'r traffig at y llunaiu mwyaf diweddar wedi dangos cynnydd aruthrol ac annisgwyl.

Daw'r traffig yn bennaf, (yn ôl system Gwgl, ond dwi'n amau'r ffigurau hyn!) o Brydain (97%), gyda dim ond 2.39% o'r traffig yn deillio o Aberystwyth(sgersli bilîf).

Daw 32% o drawiadau o ddyfeisiadau iOS, 30% o Mac-iau, a 27% o Windows (PC).
O'r teclynnau symudol, mae 80% o'r trawiadau yn dod via iOS a 17% via Android.

A dyna'r ffigrau sydd wedi fy synnu, sef bod
* dros dreuan o'r bobl sy'n edrych ar y lluniau yn gwneud hynny o ffonau a thabledi
* o'r rhai sy'n defnyddio cyfrifiadur - mae mwy o draffig o Macs nag o PCs

Well i'r wasg Gymreig brysuro i gynhyrchu mwy o ddeunydd ar gyfer yr e-fyd symudol. Mae'n amlwg bod galw yno am ddeunydd cyfredol, diddorol, gwahanol ac o safon ;-)

Diolch am gymryd yr amser i ddarllen hwn, a diolch ganwaith am gymryd diddordeb yn y lluniau. Yn aml iawn dwi'n cysidro ydi'r ymdrech fawr rwy'n ei wneud o ran amser ac arian yn werth y drafferth. Ond o weld yr ystadegau'n cynyddu, ac o dderbyn eich negeseuon cadarnhaol, rwy'n teilo'n falch bod cynifer yn cael pleser a budd o ddilyn y linciau rwy'n eu trydar, neu o alw heibio'n rheolaidd i weld beth sy'n newydd. Ffenciw mawr, ys dywed Wali.

Gerddi Kensington

After a frantic few weeks of fiddling with websites - this one included, I was a little bit afraid that while my back was turned, my "audience" may have got up and drifted away. But I took a look at various statistics relating to this website and flickr today, and was somewhat surprised at the increase in hits since the Eisteddfod. There is obviously an "Eisteddfod factor" involved, and hits will inevitably decrease, but the rise was greater than I expected. While the number of views of "old" pictures remains relatively static (around 200 a day), new pictures have gone up from an average of around 400 a day to 900 (1500+ daily). So in the 10 days I've counted since the eisteddfod, pictures have been clicked and viewed well over 15,000 times. That's an awful lot more than I'd expected.

However, it isn't the total views which surprised me most. Over 32% of traffic came from mobile devices. Then the next "big figure" is that of the desktops/laptops - there are more Macs (30%) than Windows PCs (27%)used to view the photos.

Of the mobile devices, 80% are iOS, and 17.3 Android.

Unfortunately, all this, together with my experience as a user of "Welsh" services of all kinds, suggests that the Welsh press / publishing / news services need to smarten up their act regarding quality mobile e-services ASAP. This is a very Wales/Welsh site, as is my flickr stream. Presumably the majority of people clicking on the photos have some interest in this "Welshness". They are mobile and using sophisticated and expensive devices. 15,000 views in less than a couple of weeks suggests that this audience likes looking at hot off the press, newsworthy or quirky pictures. I sincerely hope that they are also coming to me because they know they'll get to see quality pictures, rather than dimly lit murk.

Thanks for reading this, and even greater thanks for taking an interest in my pictures. It makes the effort (time and money!) worthwhile, knowing that so many people happily follow the links I post on twitter, or call-by regularly to see what's new.

Keep looking, and start buying ;-)
